  • Therapists demonstrates correct foundational techniques for competition category
  • Therapist uses proper amount of massage medium for modality
  • Therapists demonstrates a thorough comprehension of muscular skeletal system
  • Therapists demonstrates appropriate treatment opening and closing techniques
  • Therapist has effective time management for treatment within given time frame
  • Therapist effectively drapes model thru transitions
ERGONOMICS/CLIENT SAFETY/COMMUNICATION - 20 points
  • Therapists and models must be present for start of competition and stay until the conclusion of the round
  • Therapist ensures model has registered and has badge
  • Therapist demonstrates proper ergonomics/body mechanics for player and client
  • Therapists does not overuse one body part during treatment (i.e. thumbs, elbows)
  • Therapist uses their body to enhance the effectiveness of the technique

  • Therapists ensures all jewelry is removed and stored safely

PROFESSIONAL PRESENTATION - 20 points
  • Therapist has read and understands the rules of competition
  • Therapist arrives on time for table set up, model interview and start time.
  • Therapist does not start any portion before allotted time
  • Therapist is physically prepared and free of any infectious diseases
  • Therapist adheres to dress code: Professional, uniform, scrubs, yoga pants
  • Therapist has good hygiene (hair, nails, uniform, scrubs, linens)
  • Therapist has appropriate table dressing appropriate for technique
  • Therapist can freely access all equipment (beside table not under)
  • Therapists products clearly labeled and free of fragrance
  • Therapists will not make eye contact with judges
  • Understands rules and expectations
  • Staying present and focused
  • Sweatband or towel if needed. (sweating on client will result in points deducted)
  • Players body weight is being used effectively and efficiently
  • Therapist has provided linens, tools, oil and any items needed to perform their service
