For the Pigmentation Pros.

Stubborn dark spots and uneven skin tone don't fade on their own. Let the world see what a skilled esthetician can do about them.

From Dark Spots

to Even Tone.

The Pigmentation Category is your chance to unveil your expertise in tackling stubborn dark spots and uneven skin tone. Designed for licensed estheticians, this category challenges you to document an 8-week treatment plan for a client with hyperpigmentation, melasma, or sun damage (lentigines).

Document your client’s journey from blotchy patches to a clearer, more radiant complexion. This competition puts you in the spotlight for your ability to combat common pigmentation concerns, and shows potential clients the results you can achieve in just eight weeks.

This category qualifies for the Esthetician of the Year title; the most prestigious award in The Skin Games, carrying a $10,000 grand prize for the competitor who places highest across their top-three qualifying skincare categories.

What the Judges

Are Looking For.

Your case study is scored across four weighted criteria by an independent panel of licensed estheticians and industry experts. Understanding the rubric is your first competitive advantage.

Visual
Improvement

The client’s skin must show a distinct, measurable improvement over the eight-week period. Before-and-after photos are the centrepiece of your submission — judges evaluate the magnitude of visible change, the quality of documentation, and the consistency of photography. Same location, same lighting, same angle throughout.

Protocol &
Planning

Estheticians must provide a treatment and home care plan for eight weeks consecutively, built around your client’s pigmentation concern. The forms are provided and must be completed in full.

Modality &
Product Knowledge

Demonstrate knowledge of proper protocols and ingredients for treating pigmentation. What you used, and why you used it, is shown through the interview and video process.

Compliance &
Standards

Demonstrate knowledge of your scope of practice, licensing compliance and competition guidelines by following The Skin Games rules and providing current licensing or the documentation required to practice esthetics in your country.
