Christine Byer
My skincare journey started with my love of beautifying others. From a young age I pampered anyone who’d let me. I drove my sisters crazy! That evolved into 20+ years in the Skincare industry.
In 2016 I thought it’d be fun to challenge my skills so I entered the 2016 Skin Games, an International competition. It was a stressful but an amazing experience. I placed 3rd out of 1,029 competing estheticians, and in the Top 7 for Age Management. Check out the video.
This award was based on results from an 8-week case-study, before and after photos, an interview in front of a panel of judges (all skincare industry executives) and some other factors. This is a MAJOR accomplishment and not something the average esthetician ever gets to do. I’m glad I put my skills on the line and I am proud of this achievement.
It’s never been enough for me to learn something and only use it in my studio to WOW my clients. I love sharing what I learn and I’ve chosen to do that on my YouTube channel and in my Club. I want to make it possible for anyone to not only take advantage of leading edge products and technology, but to learn PRO techniques they can use at home. As I read posts from my fans about how they love how they look, after using my tips, or buying a product, and seeing results, it brings me great joy.
I will be a skincare student for life but my education began with my degree from MEDART SCHOOL OF ESTHETICS in Miami, FL. I did my post graduate study at the International Dermal Institute, known as the Harvard of post-graduate education for professional Estheticians.
I regularly attend Dermalogica classes founded by Jane Wurwand (from England) where the motto is, “no harmful ingredients to the skin” and my education doesn’t stop there. The list of classes and continuing education is a long one (read the list here) – and I will continue to grow because I aspire to keep bringing you ONLY THE VERY BEST in products and technology so you are empowered to age gracefully.
I’ve spent thousands of hours filming educational and informative videos on how-to topics ranging from using various technologies, to facial contouring massage with the ANMA, to LED and PRO quality skincare products, and more. I do this because I want viewers to get PROFESSIONAL advice, not misleading information by well-intentioned amateurs, many who’ve never touched a face or taken any formal training.
I continue to maintain my skills and knowledge. In spite of my busy schedule, it’s not unusual for me to board an airplane to receive advanced training and education from around the world – and then share this knowledge with my fans.
Thanks for stopping by to learn more about me.
Cheers to your skincare journey!
Christine

From owning and operating medical and full-service spas to traveling the U.S. helping skincare technicians become experts in their field, Arlene understands the science and the business of skincare.

With access to an entire video library of content, downloadable PDF step-by-step instructions, and 1-on-1 coaching sessions available, Professional Skincare Training believes “the best keep learning.” For Arlene White, that’s more than just a motto. From a very early age Angela has had an interest in cosmetics & skincare but at the age of 18 had a most horrific skin condition which left her with the face the size of a soccer ball, blisters & basically blind. This lasted for 6 weeks with visits to the dermatologist 3 times a week. She became fascinated with the functions, or more to the case dysfunctions of the skin. Now with 35 years in the industry, education, knowledge in all things skin, this passion has almost become an obsession.
Angela has had an extensive career, including management in the most prestigious places in London, a 5 year career on cruise ships, where she met her husband . Starting a skin clinic 23 years ago with no knowledge of the language & no client base, she now has a thriving business in advanced skin transformations.
In 202O Angela stepped out of her comfort zone, after being approached by Circadia Sweden, to represent them in The Skin Games. She won in Compromised skin, placed second in the Open category and was a finalist in Age Management. In 2021, she placed third in the Compromised category.

Compassion Category Judges
Geralyn O’Brien
Geralyn O’Brien is a licensed esthetician who specializes in oncology-focused skincare. As a cancer survivor, Geralyn saw first hand the effects cancer treatments had on her skin and well-being. Spending many years supporting other breast cancer patients as a Reach to Recovery volunteer with American Cancer Society, she found that cancer patients lacked knowledge about the impact of cancer treatment and how to safely address concerns. Hoping to fill this gap, she completed her Esthetician training with Dr. Natalie Doran at International Skin Beauty Academy in Schaumburg, Illinois in 2010, followed by several oncology trainings for estheticians. Two more cancers followed Geralyn after becoming an esthetician, and this drove her passion to see every salon and spa oncology safe so no cancer patient is turned away for a spa treatment.
Geralyn provides facials and skincare consultations at Waterford Place Cancer Resource Center in Aurora, Illinois. She also helps organize spa days and fun, interactive classes for cancer patients. There, she helped design and implement a pilot program called “Simply Beautiful” which educates women on safe skincare, makeup and hair loss while enhancing each women’s natural beauty.
Geralyn is also a trainer and ambassador with Oncology Spa Solutions where she brings awareness to local esthetic schools and estheticians in Illinois and serves as a contributor to the Integrative Cancer Review online journal. It is her philosophy that ongoing education and mentorship will continue to bring much needed awareness to important aspects of cancer care that too many people go without. She says healing is a ongoing journey and she constantly sees the benefits that wellness programs provide to cancer patients and their families.
As a winner in The Skin Games Compassionate category in 2020, Geralyn donated her $10,000.00 winnings to Waterford Place Cancer Resource Center. I currently own businesses in this field and appreciate the hard work it takes to manage a successful business and a home life. I am the proud Mom of a sassy beautiful toddler who is the joy of my life.
Over the last sixteen years, I have developed a passion for hair removal and skin care. After attending cosmetology school, I opened my first Spa at the age of 22. Hair removal and skin care management have been one of my primary areas of focus to find the best hair removal method possible and refine the techniques used. As I have developed this expert knowledge, I found that the best way to share with other esthetic professionals this effective and gentle way of hair removal was to become an educator and consultant. I have been an Esthetics educator and consultant for the last twelve years. I find immense value and satisfaction in teaching others and certainly enjoy sharing my knowledge through social media platforms.
I consider my passion for esthetics as an investment in my client’s health that can last a lifetime. I take my work seriously and have spent countless hours working and collaborating with scientists and chemists to develop a gentle and effective ingrown hair serum, soaps, and other body products for my clientele. Hair removal and skincare are about using the best products and the right techniques. I take pride in keeping current with the latest trends in skincare and certainly product knowledge. It is essential that I invest in my knowledge so that I am able to provide exceptional care to all the clients I serve as well as the students I teach.
I am super excited to be a judge in the sugaring category and look forward to growing the sugaring category. I am eager to see what the contestants will present during the competition. I know that contestants have put in a lot of hard work, dedication, and commitment in preparing for this opportunity. Let us all make this competition as sweet as sugar!

Lash Lift and Brow Lamination

Merissa Watson
Merissa began her career in 2006 when she graduated from Cosmetology school as a Nail Technician. She always had an artistic talent and loved the world of beauty and thought this was a great way to start out in the industry.
Before graduating school she landed an amazing position at the prestigious Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa. At her time working at red door spa, she worked with many different technicians from around the world that allowed her to perfect her craft and learn many different techniques. There she learned the importance of detail and how important the spa industry was with so many things it had to offer.
Merissa’s talent did not go unnoticed. Soon after gaining experience in her field she was offered a teaching position at her former alma mater, she was now teaching students where she once first started her career and could not be happier. She was able to do something she loved while helping others achieve their goals.
Merissa did not stop there. While working at a cosmetology school and working in a spa part of her time, she decided to continue her education and enroll in esthetician school. She fell in love with the world of waxing and wanted to learn all there was to learn about skincare. Once she completed esthetician school, it was not far after she was able to offer a variety of services to her clients and students. She was now able to educate and share her experiences in the field of nails and skincare while showing students how versatile the beauty industry is .
Anyone that has ever met Merissa can tell she has a passion for the industry and loves to share her knowledge with others. She is always eager to mentor other professionals and share her experiences. You will always find her staying on top of the latest trends while learning the beauty industries top services and techniques. This is what led her to Elleebana and she fell in love with lash lifting. She was so excited to offer this new service to her clients and they could not believe how great the results were. Seeing how impressed her clients were with the product, it was then she pursued her career as an Elleebana Certified Educator in 2016.
With all that Merissa has to offer the beauty industry it only made sense for the next chapter in her career. In 2020 she decided she wanted to do more for beauty professionals and opened Face & Body Institute of New England. Face & Body Institute of New England is a beauty school located in Connecticut, offering advanced education for professionals. It will feature hands on education for a variety of services and will retail supplies to licensed beauty professionals. The beauty industry is full of amazing opportunities and a school was a perfect platform for Merissa to share all her knowlege with others everywhere.
Merissa currently resides in Connecticut where she was born and raised. She continues to educate others while traveling around the United States and educating at spa trade shows, while still offering hands on education. She loves spending her spare time with her family and two amazing children.

Liza Sorochan
I was born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine. I graduated from Denver School of Botanical and Medical Aesthetics Skincare program and received my esthetician license in 2017. Lashes were something I knew nothing about going into beauty school but was introduced to them soon after graduating when I was at my first salon. I have been certified in lash lifts since the beginning of 2017 and it has remained the majority of services I provide. Later on, after working for several companies and gaining valuable experiences, I decided to make the jump and open my own beauty studio in Lone Tree, Colorado. After a successful year and a half of operating my own business I moved to Arizona and realized how much I miss doing lashes! So here I am, I opened my new mobile lash lift business in AZ. I still go back to Colorado to work on my regular client’s lashes and skin.
Lash lifts have boosted my confidence immensely and helping others to see their own inner beauty through lashes is truly amazing. I absolutely love what I do and strive to be better at my craft every single day.

Kate Shaughnessy
Kate Shaughnessy became an esthetician back in 2003 after her battle with cystic acne grade 3. ” The way you look isn’t everything but it does change how you feel about yourself.” Her skin was so bad that while working at Lancome as a counter manager a customer asked if she had been in a fire. ” I knew at that moment I wanted to figure out why my skin was doing what it was doing and help others who had the same problems.”
Once finishing esthetic school she was working at a day spa when she was approached to learn lash extentions. ” I still remember the conversation. My manager said they are coming out with something called lash extensions. Do you want to learn? Everyone thought I was crazy and thought that no one would pay money to have fake hair attached to their eyes.” Kate was 6 months pregnant with her firstborn while she learned lash extentions.
Fast-forward 15 years, Kate was recruited to be a national trainer for multiple training companies, including the world’s leading lash company. While training for a lash company, Microblading entered the scene. ” That was it, I knew I had to go learn. It was like Alice and the rabbit hole. I just kept learning and never stopped.
I have been told I am a learner. Curiosity is one of my values. I want to know why things work the way they do.” After being a trainer for multiple companies, Kate launched her own program in Indiana. She has also spoken on multiple national stages in the industry speaking from the enneagram and how it affects how you lead a team but also with clients, she speaks on team based pay which is how her salon is run and how to show up as a leader not as a boss.
Her favorite topic to speak on at stages, as well as businesses, is called dreaming backwards. ” I believe we were fed a lie that we were going to make all this money right out of school or taking that big course… but for what? We work crazy hours, miss our kids events and important life things. For what? What if we change how we do this. What if we decide this is the life we want and then go back from there.” Her approach to this will leave you connected with pieces of your heart you forgot were there. She has been featured in multiple magazines including the NYC Journal. When she is not leading her team of women at Lash & Brow Design Co. you will find her working with Burn survivors, women with cleft palates, the local children’s hospital and the local food bank.
She is a busy mom of 4 little girls and believes that we only have one life to live, so you better live it to your fullest. ” I believe you need to figure out why God put you on this earth and then step all the way into it. I believe I was put here to speak into people’s lives and help them figure out their Why. You figure that out, the rest will start to fall into place.”
